Drawing on autopoiesis, laws of form, reader response and cybernetics, this study unravels the way film as an environment is observed, marked, and indicated by spectators and thus how meaning is assigned to a film. The research is based on two premises: information emerges from people's indications of an environment as they observe it, and film is an environment for observation that attains meaning.

Autor

Anis Pervez is academically trained in Media and Communication, Information Science and Sociology respectively from Dhaka University, Indiana University Bloomington and Oslo University. His areas of expertise cover knowledge management, media planning and information and communication material development.
