This difficulty is compounded by the disparity in the nature of the materials used to manufacture the tyre.This work analyzes the legislation that implements the Used Tire Management System, its practicability, opportunity, limits and inconsistencies.The solution adopted in Portugal is compared with the solutions implemented in other countries.The use of low-cost and easily implemented industrial techniques that allow the consumption of rubber granulates resulting from tyre recycling in large quantities and that can represent environmentally and economically efficient solutions for the recovery of these recycled materials is also assessed.
