In the aluminum casting industry, the unsurpassed X-ray technology is used. The X-ray procedure aims to generate an image, which can be processed and must be of the highest quality. An example of the practical and theoretical use involved in the research is the wavelet transform. It was used for the spatial localization of different frequencies contained in images. The work carried out offers the suggestion of a digital image unit for processing, operating in partnership between industry and the university. This book is the result of the author's full-time research and development work in the state of São Paulo.
