In the present work, screened 113 germplasm lines and isolated genotypes CO3, Arka Meghali (large fruit genotypes) and EC-521038 and EC-24296 (small fruit genotypes) promising for heat stress and subjected for induced mutagenesis using gamma rays and EMS. Fixed LD50 value, at 350 Gy and 0.30% for EMS respectively. Higher frequency of chlorophyll mutants (0.60%) and viable mutant frequency (6.25%) was observed in EMS treating Arka Meghali followed by CO3 (0.35% & 5.14%).
