qualitative study that recounts the lived
experiences of inequality among a cross-section of
women from different socio-economic, rural and urban
backgrounds in Ghana.These women, in their own
voices, described their experiences of lack of
sexual and reproductive rights, inheritance of
properties, and lack of effective political
participation and decision-making in the governance
of their country. The book also discussed the
barriers that hinder women from achieving gender
equality, such as multiple roles of women,
structural and cultural barriers, and lack of
education. The book, from Social Work and feminist
perspectives discussed suggestions for the
advancement of gender equality in Ghana.
