The main goal of the PIBID (Institutional Program for Teaching Initiation Scholarships) is to improve teacher training and promote improvements in basic education teaching at the national level. The sub-project, "Teaching Science and Biology by Investigation: a relationship between theory and practice", was developed in the Biological Sciences (Degree) course at the State University of Western Paraná and proposes, using the approach of teaching by investigation, to allow students to construct their own knowledge by taking an interest in the subject. When I took part in this sub-project as a scholarship holder, I was interested in finding out whether the supervising teachers at the schools involved had taken on board this theoretical-methodological approach and what changes in school reality might have occurred. A qualitative analysis was carried out using an interview with the supervising teachers participating in this sub-project as the data collection tool. These interviews gave rise to axes of analysis and categories that helped us to understand the supervising teachers' view of the impact that PIBID has had on their teaching practice and on the students.
