However, in spite of all this, land degradation is taking place at a very terrible rate mostly in developing countries for example; Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania etc. Economic growth has been obtained by degrading the natural resource base and this is no longer acceptable and it is increasingly being acknowledged that land as a whole is a basic factor in global life support systems. Further, it has an intrinsic value far beyond agricultural production.
