''No subject is more divisive then migration policy in the current political debate in Europe. However, six years into the global financial crisis, it is not only migration from third countries, but even intra-European migration which creates tensions and controversies. This book provides a comprehensive overview of the politics of immigration and citizenship in the European Union, going at the origins of the debate on what it truly means to be a European Citizen. After introducing the theoretical dimension of the politics of immigration and citizenship, the book explores the cases of intra-EU migration in Italy and Spain of focusing on the case of the Roma.
