Cryptography is a solution to protect confidential images by encrypting an image before transmission over public networks. To achieve a fast and secure cryptosystem for high-resolution images, a hybrid selective cryptosystem is proposed based on elliptic curve cryptography and chaotic maps. Selective encryption is a solution to decrease the consumed time which reduces the encryption regions as small as possible. This scheme will encrypt only confidential regions rather than whole image and guarantee the cryptosystem to work effectively and secure in real-time applications.
