She specialises in gender-based violence and mental health in conflict and humanitarian crises. James Smith is a Research Fellow with the Health in Humanitarian Crises Centre at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM). He has worked as a researcher with Médecins Sans Frontières's Research Unit on Humanitarian Stakes and Practices (UREPH), and as a clinician with the U.K. National Health Service.
