At seventeen, conditionally released, Tonio joins the Navy and becomes a wellrespected combat UDT frogman. Tonio strikes an officer who spat on him and is waiting for the Navy Brass decision regarding his future. Tonio then unknowingly enters a White's Only bar for a cherry coke. There he fights a man who called him a nigger, and once again is sent to Buena Vista. An unfortunate event, surrounded by racism and jealousy, sends him to the Colorado State Penitentiary to a cell on death row. As the truth comes out and with the help of many, Tonio is released with a full pardon. He goes on to become a Navy Seal and an accomplished "outrageous" architect who is active in the civil rights movement. Unwind the story of an unexpected life.
