This drastically reduces discipline problems for the rest of the school year. She has mentored two teachers, at the request of her principal, using these methods and both continue to use them. These methods are simple, effective and straight forward. This book is the first of a four book series that describes her methods of instruction and classroom management. The book is full of cute illustrations provided by her sister-in-law, Carolyn Smith. There are also numerous photographs of her classroom and bulletin boards, as well as illustrated ideas for projects that can be both instructional and fun. Patty has reviewed the book with principals, school superintendants and an instructor at Northern Arizona University. All believed that it is an excellent and practical book for beginning teachers.
