The book places suffering at the center of its socio-critical considerations, replacing the famous alienation motif of the Frankfurt School. It begins by critiquing the concept of alienation and its long tradition in social and political philosophy, especially in Critical Theory.

Autor

Cornelia Stefan has studied Philosophy at the Alpen-Adria University of Klagenfurt. After doing her master she received a doctoral fellowship in Medical Humanities at the University of Insubria Varese/Como (IT) which she completed with a PhD. Since 2016 she is a member of the editorial board of the scientific journal "Europea"and author of several peer-reviewed articles. From 2019 to 2021 she was a Postdoc at the University Salzburg and currently she is Senior Scientist at the Alpen-Adria University Klagenfurt.
