With this book, the author aims to change that by sharing the powerful legacy of Haiti's fight for freedom and the lasting impact it had on the world. Her mission in writing this book is to show young readers that Haiti's story is about much more than the konpa music or delicious foods often associated with it. It is a powerful tale of resilience, bravery, and the triumph of freedom, which altered the course of humanity and continues to inspire change today.
