The accumulated data is further enhanced by abstracts of land and probate records, the effect of which is to add still more weight to the already overwhelming evidence. Throughout, families are arranged in alphabetical order. Children are carried forward as heads of families in leap-frog fashion, and everyone mentioned whose name does not occur in normal sequence under the appropriate family history is identified in the index. Wherever possible, women are indexed under their maiden names.
