The book further highlights policies which shaped and guided some educational practices within each particular East African countries. The rise and consolidation of English Medium Schools particularly in Tanzania is narrated as a special case and in the other East African countries of Kenya and Uganda a brief description is also attempted where English overrides Kiswahili in terms of domains of use is briefly highlighted. The book should not be considered as a comprehensive material but rather serves as a useful material to trigger more explorations and discussion among student teachers undertaking courses related to History of Education as well as Comparative and International Education. It is also useful to other education stakeholders at large as it shades light regarding the past, present and future about educational aspects.
