Hiraeth is a word indicating nostalgia for something you can no longer return to, such as a place or a time. This is a selection of themed poems. Irish-Canadian poet Antony Christie said of her previous collection: "Merrieweather uses a variety of poetic forms, from the traditional ballad to contemporary free verse, [and] is adept at giving voices to the mythical, those shunned by society, the inanimate, and the human, and has produced a weighty collection in which there are poems that should appeal to all who enjoy poetry."

Autor

Nisaba Merrieweather has been writing prose and poetry since the 1970s, with everything before this century quietly made to disappear. She is an active occultist. She has been an member of the Outback Writers' Centre since she moved to Dubbo, more recently becoming the treasurer, then the president.
