High physical endurance and higher rates of exposure to infections and work related stress like situation calls for a serious move to have some standards for the healthcare worker to minimize exposure and ensure follow up. Indian legislation on occupational health and safety does not cover hospitals. The study provides information regarding healthcare service provider's health status that is needed for policy makers and program providers at national, state and local level in order to improve worker's health and, thus, the health of mankind seeking health care to them.
