After transitioning into business and healthcare, James honed his unique ability to blend Kaizen with mindfulness, helping individuals and teams unlock their potential. His journey into continuous improvement began in 2004 while working in manufacturing, where he embraced the principles of efficiency, growth, and transformation and was recruited into healthcare in 2010. In 2015, his focus shifted to mindfulness and meditation, and he has since deepened his practice through retreats and visiting monasteries in Japan.A pivotal moment in his journey came in 2020 when he founded Headwaters to Change, a platform dedicated to supporting people on their path to self-mastery through the integration of Kaizen philosophy and mindfulness practices.James's work has spanned continents and industries. At the University of Alberta Hospital, he leads transformative change that fosters innovation and growth. He has also been privileged to contribute to non-profit efforts in Rwanda and Kenya, broadening his perspective on global impact. A key influence in his journey has been George Mumford, a renowned performance coach whose work with NBA legends like Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant brought mindfulness into the heart of high-performance sports.
