Emphasis is placed on his life on the other side with a good deal of metaphysical and spiritual philosophy garnered by his companion character, Doctor Harrington; his guardian angel of sorts. The manuscript relies heavily on descriptive narrative of the other side of life: which has been brought about through much reading, many meditations, very descriptive and truly cognitive dreams, and, of course, a keen imaginative mind on the part of the writer. Through Horatio's eyes, we get to visit other realms and learn what life awaits us all after our earthly passing.
