Using a simple format of reading scripture and answering questions, you will begin to see your neighborhood and workplace as your mission field. You will learn to explore your neighborhood and workplace by accepting the mission and praying for believing partners. You will engage your neighbors and co-workers, first by praying, followed by listening to the prompts of the Spirit, then acting by serving them through biblical good works. You will learn to evangelize through conversations and simply sharing your story. As God begins to use you to lead individuals to Christ, you will learn how to establish them in their faith through personal discipleship, and equip them by bringing them into your own church body. Acts 17:26 tells us that God determines our appointed times and the boundaries of our habitation. God divinely puts us where we live because He has work for us to do as His ambassadors and ministers of reconciliation. Going Around The Corner teaches a simple, practical, biblical strategy of disciple-making. Building on a solid foundation, the goal is to encourage, motivate and equip believers to carry out the Great Commission in their own backyard.

Autor

Sheila came to Christ at an early age, growing up in a Baptist church in Western North Carolina. She spent a lot of time in and around church with a mom who worked as the church secretary, so marrying a full-time minister came naturally. She met her husband, Todd, while attending Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA; they married in 1985 and have spent their lives serving God together while raising two daughters. As a young mom, Sheila fell in love with Bible study when asked to join a Precept study. Throughout the years of raising their daughters, working full-time and serving in ministry, she has loved studying and teaching in the Word. Now at this time of "empty-nest" life, she is enjoying the opportunity to try her hand at writing to encourage other believers. Sheila and her husband reside in Hendersonville, NC, where they have established Around The Corner Ministries to equip and encourage followers of Christ to share the gospel where they live, work and play.
