The use of natural products in pharmaceutical development, rooted in early human history, has evolved into a significant domain in modern medicine. This transition from traditional knowledge to contemporary pharmaceutical sciences highlights the trust placed by humanity in the healing properties of natural medicines. Both terrestrial and marine organisms have contributed to the discovery of bioactive compounds, many of which are the foundation for modern drugs. Autor

Salman Ahmed holds a B.Pharm., degree from the University of Karachi, Pakistan, and a Ph.D., and M.Phil., in Pharmacognosy from the same institution. He has been an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacognosy at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Karachi, Pakistan since 2016. He has authored 109 research papers and 5 books.
