In this sense, the second component of the work, as a need to assess the reality of Portuguese education, analyses the representations of different cultural groups in the History and Geography of Portugal textbooks of the Portuguese education system. The main aim of this analysis is to find out whether, at least in this respect, educational practices in Portugal are in line with the principles of visibility and equality between cultures.
