Elle Moore is a picture book enthusiast, forest wanderer, and professional goofball living on the misty Oregon Coast. Raised in Chico, California (go Vikings!), Elle graduated from Pleasant Valley High in 2008 and earned her B.A. in English from CSU, Chico in 2017-- because what better way to make a living than playing with words? A former educator, Elle's favorite part of the school day was reading picture books aloud to her elementary students with wild voices, theatrical flair, and absolutely no chill. Now, as a parent of two hilarious kids, she's traded the classroom rug for bedtime story snuggles-- though her dramatic reading voice remains fully intact.Elle's deep love of animals (including her two beloved pets and a pair of peanut-loving crows named Edgar and Poe who seem to think they're family) often makes its way into her stories. When she's not writing, you'll find her drawing, laughing too loud, getting dirt under her nails in the garden, or roaming the Pacific Northwest forests in search of magic, moss, and a fleeting moment of "peace."Her debut book, Gemma and the Missing Moonlight, is inspired by her late corgi and lifelong obsession with stories that make you giggle, wonder, and feel just a little bit cozier.
