For the portfolio selection criteria there are multiple methods, frameworks, guidelines, strategies, etc., that have been used or adapted. The most used tools for guiding the selection of the elements that will be part of the portfolio are the BSC, Stage-Gate model and LCA. There is a gap between portfolio management and sustainability implementation, and for that reason some companies have developed their tools to include sustainability in their portfolio.
