Ollie Marshall-Rico is the seventh of sixteen children, a native of Springfield, Arkansas., from the community of Union Chapel. She resides in Orange, New Jersey with her husband, (Luis). She is a retired Newark Public System educator and a former VISTA Volunteer. As a VISTA Volunteer, with other VISTA Volunteers, she played a significant role to help create the first Rent Control Bill in the City of Newark; she is a life member of the NAACP, a community activist and an active member of a church where she practices Christlike behavioral throughout the community.
