Autor

Conchubhar Ó Crualaoich is a native of Wexford town. He qualified as a plumber at the age of 19, but after stints in Germany and Australia he returned to full-time education in Maynooth where he completed a degree in Old and Middle Irish as well as German in 1994, after which he completed his PhD on 'Aspects of Syncope in Old Irish'. He was appointed Placenames Officer at the Placenames Branch in 2000. He has published essays on various aspects of Gaelic Wexford and is the principal author of Logainmneacha na hÉireann IV: Townland Names of Co. Wexford. More recently he has published extensively on the townland names of Co. Sligo. His first love has always been Gaelic football: his grandfather, Jack Crowley, won four football All-Irelands with Wexford, and his father, Pete, alongside his uncles played for the County over many years.
