Produktbeschreibung
This work discusses the musical and social function of the Repinique in the Bateria of the Grêmio Recreativo e Cultural Escola de Samba (GRCES) Império de Casa Verde in the city of São Paulo, as well as the situation of those who play it, with the aim of gaining a better understanding of the dynamics that exist within this specific social context and of the instrument itself, which lacks significant work on the subject. Through the systematization of a new notational method, we show some of the instrument's referential characteristics within the language of samba enredo - a style in which it is involved in terms of its variations, rhythmic patterns, timbres, sonorities and musical and social functions, directly linked to its importance in this aspect. We analyzed what happens socially to the performer inside and outside their community. Finally, we look at the degree to which the position acquired in this specific context corresponds to real recognition in their community as a whole and in other social sectors.
