He served in the Royal Engineers during the Second World War, and was part of the Dunkirk Evacuation. Carrie Dunn is a journalist based in north-west London. She has written for the Guardian, The Times, the Independent, and the Daily Express, and lectures in journalism and media practice at various universities.
