Fractures of the mandibular condyle are common (21% of mandibular fractures), and mainly affect young men (MVA) and children (chin falls). Their systematic diagnosis in the event of any facial trauma is crucial. The 3D CT scan is the reference imaging test for assessing the location and displacement of the fracture, and for selecting the appropriate treatment protocol at a later stage. Treatment is mainly conservative (orthopedic/functional), especially in children. Surgery (plate osteosynthesis) is indicated for highly displaced low subcondylar fractures in adults. the reduction approach most frequently used by our team is the Risdon approach. treatment of capital fractures remains functional. evolution may be marked by sequelae (ankylosis, SADAM, asymmetry). Prognosis depends on location (high = more severe), displacement and quality of treatment. Prevention through road and home safety is essential.
