This afforded him the chance to meet and become friends with many of the players, coaches, executives, and pillars. He began to write humorous, monthly articles, pouring his passion for the game and his team into each one. As they began to get published in numerous publications around the Midwest, he learned that folks really enjoyed them. Fowl Ball is the accumulation of those articles, from over the years. It is his third, self-published book, coming on the heels of his 2008 tome, It Shined: the saga of the Ozark Mountain Daredevils and his 2022 effort, Fat & Funny (So, you want to be Santa Claus).
