Formulation exhibited well viscosity, drug content, gelling properties (gelling capacity and gel strength) and sustained drug release. The results of a full factorial design revealed that the concentration of Carbapol and concentration of HPMC K15M significantly affected the independent variables while the concentration of HPMC and concentration of HPMC K15 significantly affected the dependent variable (gel strength). These insitu ophthalmic gel are, suitable for ocular sustained release of pheniramine maleate.
