It is part of our creation and survival. Love is like a precious stone, a precious gem--pure, brilliant, beautiful, enduring, and cherished forever. Have you ever thought about the word forever? What exactly does it mean? Has anyone ever defined the word or even tried? Just thinking about the word forever is mind-boggling. It is not time, and it cannot be measured. You cannot explain or describe it. So what is this mysterious word? You hear people say it everywhere you go. People talk about it, write about it, and even sing about it. People have created fragrances and scents in the name of love. Have you ever thought about the word love? That's another mysterious word you hear. People say "I love you" all the time. People write books about it, sing about it, and make movies about it, but can you describe it? The Bible says God is love. So true love is forever because God is forever. It also says what everyone desires is unfailing love. But describing love is a different story. The Bible describes love in the scriptures. God loves each and every one of us, and nothing can separate us from His love; it is unconditional, unchangeable, and forever. God loves us more than we could ever imagine. So what is forever love? Some say, "Puppy love." Others say, "True love," and still, others say, "Infatuation." But what exactly is love between two people? What is the attraction? What is the spark that triggers the chemistry? When you truly love someone, you would never intentionally hurt that person. You care for them deeply and want the best for them. You want all their dreams to come true and their life to be complete and content, full of peace and happiness and love, most of all love. The difference between loving someone and being in love is all those things, in addition to passion or romantic love. You love your children, your parents, and your family. But being in love with someone, you have that special unexplainable passion or romantic love. You can give without loving or being in love, but if you truly love, you cannot help but give. This is a story about a girl and a boy who fell in love when they were fifteen years old. It was "sweet fifteen." They were very much in love, but would it last? Was it really love? Was it that unconditional, unchangeable, unstoppable love from the heart? Was it true love, or were they just passionately infatuated with each other? Daniel and Kristin made a pact. They held their hands up, pressed firmly together palm-to-palm and fingers-to-fingers, and said together, "Forever."
