The conservation and sustainable use of biological diversity, as well as the eradication of extreme poverty, are two major contemporary challenges. The international community has recognized that these two challenges are closely linked and require a coordinated response. The protection of biological diversity plays an essential role in the fight against poverty and contributes to sustainable development. 70% of the world's poor live in rural areas and depend on biological diversity for their survival and well-being. The impact of environmental degradation is most severe for these poor populations, whose options for survival are limited. Faced with this situation, the Congo is committed to establishing sustainable forest management through the creation of Forest Management Units (FMU) and Forest Exploitation Units (FEU). The aim of this study is to understand the problems faced by the players involved in forest management, the use and impact of the forest by the CLPAs on the production function, and to develop an approach aimed at reconciling the need for conditions.
