The Air Force Financial Management (FM) community faces significant change over the next several years, both to its organizational structure and its business operations, as a result of ongoing transformation initiatives. The success of these initiatives will directly influence the long-term viability of the FM community and the support it provides its customers. This paper provides a background to three of the transformation initiatives that primarily affect base-level operations, discusses possible barriers to change and reviews the ways to overcome these barriers. Finally, the paper concludes with specific recommendations to ensure the changes are both effective and accepted.
