The subject matter presented in each chapter is usually followed by a number of solved exercises, accompanied by a detailed discussion of the solution procedure. Unsolved problems are given at the end of each chapter. The book is written in a user-friendly style and has a double vocation. It will readily serve as a textbook for undergraduate and/or graduate students as well as a handbook for the professionals dealing with problems in environmental, water resources, civil, hydraulic and agricultural engineering, and in geomorphology and geology.
