Nitrogen and sulphur are important elements from aspect of quantity and quality of vegetable yield. Brassica vegetable species (broccoli, cauliflower etc.) are characterized by beneficial chemical composition and content of health-promoting antioxidants, especially glucosinolates (sulforaphane), vitamin C (ascorbic acid) etc. These phytochemicals help to prevent our body against various civilisation diseases - many cancer types, cardiovascular and other health troubles. Nevertheless, we are evidences of lower vegetable consumption in Slovakia.
