To distract from his wife’s failing health, Kent gathered the old letters he had written home from the War and, with his granddaughter’s help, began recording his stories and anecdotes. The project proved to not only honor his wife’s final request, but it also gave a deeper meaning to his own remaining years. The memories he reveled in the most were during WWII. Kent wanted to share the experiences he had and, in that way, live on. With his permission and blessing, his granddaughter Kira Shay, set out to give those memories new life. This is the collection of those memories.
