Il est titulaire d'un doctorat en pédagogie et d'un doctorat en psychologie de l'orientation. Il est actuellement enseignant-chercheur à l'Universidad Pública Mexicana. Il a enseigné au niveau élémentaire, au niveau licence, au niveau maîtrise et au niveau doctorat. Il est l'auteur d'ouvrages sur l'éducation, la psychologie et la philosophie. Ses recherches portent sur la pensée critique, la formation des enseignants et la méthodologie de la recherche.
