The proniosomal gelling system controls the degradation of drug and prevents loss and harmful side effects which ultimately increase the availability of the drug at the disease site. For the treatment of intracellular infections, a conventional delivery system is not effective due to limited residence and permeation of drugs into cells. Proniosomal gels are becoming popular due to ease of application and better penetration than other conventional semi-solid preparations.
