Dr. Elliott does not believe in chance or coincidence. He believes in the miracle-working power of God. Born in Hapeville, Georgia, Dr. Elliott accepted the Lord at age 12 and surrendered his life to the full-time gospel ministry one week later. The First Baptist Church in Hapeville baptized him and, in 1960, licensed him to preach. After High School, he attended Carson-Newman College in Jefferson City, Tennessee, and received a BA in Psychology. He continued his education at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, receiving a Master of Divinity Degree. In 1978 Dr. Elliott completed his studies for the Doctor of Ministry Degree and received the degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He served churches in Texas and Florida for over ten years as a pastor. His ministry also included serving as a member of the Jacksonville Baptist Association staff and for 27 years as a member of the Florida Baptist Convention staff. In addition, Dr. Elliott holds the unique distinction of "Chaplain Emeritus" of the Florida Air National Guard, having served as their Senior Chaplain for almost 31 years. Presently, he teaches a senior adult Bible Study Group in his church, plays in the church orchestra, and enjoys writing.
