The book surveyed 5oo heacters of land in the study area by characterizing the soils and studied the morphological, physical and chemical properties, after which productivity index method as proposed by Riguier et. al,(1970) was modified and used in the modelling of the actual suitability classification of the soils into various classes. For sustainable cassava production in the area,to be achieved, soil remedial measures which is the coefficient of improvement for the soils were suggested in order to attain the potential suitability classification of the soils. This book which is practically oriented, will also assist soil science students at the undergraduate level and post graduate students in the field of pedology as well as lecturers and researchers in the field. It will also help investors in cassava industry, for cassava value chain.
