The cars were taller, longer and the street I was running on became straight, narrowing all the way to the horizon as they often appear in surreal paintings. In this psychedelic mindset, everything appeared to move slower, allowing me to dodge gunfire and miraculously escape the police. When the hallucination ended, I was in a different state, New York City. Without money, personal I.D. or a place to sleep, I was forced to live in a different reality, one which included an unseen power that meddled in my life.
