After a fulfilling career in science teaching, an awestruck visit to the Rocky Mountains led Susanna Lane to uncover stories from history and write about the frontier. While writing about the Western settlement of the U.S., she has learned to ride horses, fit into a cattle drive, and hike into remote regions of the West, absorbing the details and getting a feel for the settings of her books.Married for forty-one years to an avid gardener and traveler who shares her interest in historical locations, Susanna loves to visit new places, read, and spend time with family. In addition to her spouse, she has two grown sons and three darling grandchildren who fill her life with delight.
