Here various challenging factors in root canal disinfection and different advanced therapeutic strategies for endodontic biofilms such as antibacterial nanoparticles, antimicrobial photodynamic therapy, laser-assisted root canal disinfection, ozone, and herbal/enzyme alternatives have been discussed.
