First I will share with you how and why I put this book together. One day I was thinking about natural disasters like tornadoes, hurricanes, ice storms, earthquakes, meteors, and solar storms. I know that these events could be devastating for the people involved in them. I also know that if it happened on a large scale, it might be hard for utility companies and agencies to get everything back online very quickly. Some people might have to "rough it" a while. I then asked myself, "What could I do to help?" "How can I prepare us for this?" I realized that I don't have the knowledge, time, and resources to help many people. So I set out to study, research, and learn as much as I could in the areas of infrastructure. Electricity, heat, crafting tools and clean water.
