The show focused on paramedics John Gage and Roy DeSoto (played by Mantooth & Tighe) of the Los Angeles County Fire Department's Station 51 (actually LACoFD Sta 127 in Carson, CA), also featuring the other crew of the station and the hospital emergency room staff with whom the paramedics worked to save lives, where it starred Robert Fuller, Julie London and Bobby Troup, who all tried their hand at rescuing patients, the paramedics brought to the hospital.
