EMAS adoption in France and in Germany

The aim of this work is to understand organisations' motivations to adopt EMAS, a premium eco management system, compared to ISO 14001. Qualitative research methods were used and data was collected, then analysed, mainly through semi-structured interviews. Three main organisations profiles are described with a parallel between French and German context, permitting a better understanding of cultural differences in approaching premium eco management systems.
