Adrenaline has been used in the treatment of cardiac arrest for years and current international guidelines recommend its use. It may improve return of spontaneous circulation but there is insufficient evidence to suggest that adrenaline improves survival to hospital discharge and favorable neurological outcome. This review aims to review the scientific evidence regarding the efficacy of adrenaline in out-of-hospital cardiac arrest in adults.
