The cultivation of Acid lime is somewhat restricted to central and southern India, because of its susceptibility to cold and well marked seasons, its performance in north is not up to the mark. Some principal countries where it is extensively grown are the United States of America, India, Spain, Italy, Brazil, Australia, Japan, Israel, Mexico, Morocco, Algeria and South Africa. In India, citrus occupies commercially a very important place among the fruit crops next only to mango and banana.
